MISSION: To educate and support individuals involved in the development and fundraising activities of the nonprofit organizations of the Inland Northwest.

Core Values: INDC membership is open to any individual, institution or organization which subscribes to, and abides by, the professional principles of ethics accepted by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and other publicly recognized organizations involved in the development and support of non profit organizations.

history

The Inland Northwest Development Council evolved out of prior Spokane organizations that were focused on connecting grant-makers and grant-seekers, as well as providing professional development for grant-seekers and development professionals. In July of 1993, a Charter was drawn up for the Inland Northwest Development Council “to provide a structure for networking and learning.” The Inland Northwest Development Council, or INDC, did not incorporate or seek 501(C)(4) status until 2017, as their intent was to keep the group informal.

Programs

Programs & Events

INDC provides engaging programs that give fundraisers, development professionals, nonprofit leaders, and community partners throughout the Inland Northwest opportunities to learn, connect, and be inspired. Each year, our educational programming explores a variety of timely topics while fostering collaboration, professional growth, and meaningful peer connections.

Regular Programs

INDC's regular programs are held from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM on the third Thursday of January, March, May, September, and November, with occasional bonus programs offered in June and October.

Please note: Our regular programs have moved to a morning schedule.

Connect Tours

In addition to our regular programs, INDC hosts Connect Tours at member organizations throughout the year. These behind-the-scenes visits provide additional opportunities to learn about the important work being done across our nonprofit community while building relationships with fellow professionals.

Connect Tours are typically held during months that do not include a regular INDC program (such as February, April, June, October, or December) and are open to everyone. Membership is not required to attend.

Become a Member of INDC

INDC is your local resource for fundraising, nonprofit leadership, and professional development. Whether you're representing an organization or attending as an individual, membership provides access to educational programming, networking opportunities, and valuable resources throughout the year.

Both Organizational and Individual memberships include:

• Access to all educational programs throughout the membership year

• Networking opportunities with nonprofit professionals and fundraising peers

• Continuing education points applicable toward CFRE certification or recertification

• Mentorship opportunities with Executive Committee members and fellow INDC members

• Invitations to Connect Tours at local businesses

• Updates on nonprofit job opportunities, volunteer openings, funding resources, and member communications

Membership Options

Organizational Membership — $100 per year

Designed for nonprofit organizations and businesses that want to invest in the professional development of their teams.

Includes:

• Attendance at all INDC programs throughout the membership year

• Unlimited staff, board members, or organizational representatives may attend each session

  • Attendees must pre-register for each program to ensure accurate attendance counts

• Flexibility to send different representatives to different programs based on your organization's needs

Individual Membership — $50 per year

Ideal for consultants, students, retirees, or nonprofit professionals whose organizations are not members.

Includes:

• Attendance at all INDC programs throughout the membership year

• Membership is valid for one person only

• Membership is non-transferable

• Individual memberships are not affiliated with or representative of an organization

Pay Per Session — $25 per person

Not ready to become a member? Attend only the programs that interest you.

Includes:

• Admission to a single INDC program

• Registration for one person

• No annual membership required

Executive Committee Member Benefit

INDC Executive Committee members receive discounted membership as a benefit of their service.

• Unaffiliated Executive Committee members receive a complimentary Individual Membership.

• Executive Committee members affiliated with an organization receive 50% off an Organizational Membership, reducing the annual cost from $100 to $50.

Membership Dues

Memberships are valid for one program year and are prorated based on when you join.

Organizational Membership

• Join in June – September: $100 (about $14 per session)

• Join in October – December: $80 (about $13–$16 per session)

• Join in January – March: $60 (about $15–$20 per session)

• Join in April – May: $40 (about $20 per session)

Individual Membership

• Join in June – September: $50 (about $7 per session)

• Join in October – December: $40 (about $6–$8 per session)

• Join in January – March: $30 (about $7–$10 per session)

• Join in April – May: $20 (about $10 per session)

Per-session costs are approximate and based on the number of remaining programs in the membership year.
